COVID-19 Resource Guide

Rent/Mortgage Payments

On March 29, 2020 Governor Steve Sisolak signed an emergency directive putting a moratorium on all residential and commercial evictions in the State of Nevada through the duration of the State of Emergency. For details, click here.

The emergency directive does not mean free rent or mortgages, but prohibits lockouts, notices to quit or pay, and eviction filings.

Many lending institutions are offering homeowners facing financial hardships due to the coronavirus a 90-day grace period on mortgage payments. Lenders have also agreed to work with customers to ensure they are not hit with a large lump sum payment if they need to halt payments during the State of Emergency. Nevadans can look here for a resource guide provided by the Nevada Treasurer’s Office with a list of lenders, phone numbers, and websites.  If you are unable to get the COVID-19 related help you need after reaching out to your lender, the Nevada Treasurer’s Office is asking you to email them directly at ask@nevadatreasurer.gov.

Utilities

The Nevada Public Utilities Commission has a webpage here with more details about utility shutoffs. Most utility companies are willing to work with those effected by COVID-19.
